Colin Neale and myself rode down through Woburn to Heath & Reach. I rode over to Brog first met 'em there then we went off mostly on road to Woburn. Climbing up the "Knarly" climb was nice & steady, the first bit of cooler shade. I'd already done 120miles this week going to work and back and my legs took ages to start working properly. Some of the tracks were very dusty and so much sand it was impossible not to slide sideways or lose traction.

At Heath&Reach it was very hot at the cafe. I tried to entice the boys down the "off piste" section. "Oh no we are going to Tenerife next week and don't want any scars....", said Colin. So we aborted that mission. Then on the descent through the trees Colin tried to Cheesewire himself, luckily he failed. Er... Tenerife?

Home to watch the finale of the Tour de France.
